The Bookie’s Team: Game Week 36

Hi everyone, this is a weekly blog post where we document changes to our team based on bookie’s odds. Having done this last season we’d like to think we’ve learned from our mistakes and aim to finish higher than our top 7% finish. This is not a wildcard XI or a team of the best possible players, this is an actual team which we have had since GW1 and have made changes to throughout the season. With the introduction and warning away, no to introduce to you the bookie’s team for Game Week 36. This post will review our changes and reason as to why we brought them in.

We are currently 25,136th overall rank in the world, well in our top 1% goal at the start of the season, here is hoping it all doesn’t go Pete Tong with 3 weeks to go. Our captain Raheem brought us in 16 points while our bench boost was pretty dire, overall we’re happy enough with our gameweek score of 92. With 1.2m in the bank, a free transfer to make, and James Maddison having absolutely shocking fixtures it seems obvious to us to dump the Leicester midfielder in gameweek 36.

Seeing as we can afford a 7.9 midfielder if we transfer him out the best priced options which we can afford are Lucas Moura (5.47 expected), Xherdan Shaqiri (5.14 expected) and Ryan Babel (4.91 expected). Given Moura and Shaqiri are both rotation risks, we’re going to go with our “I’ve given up on my season and want a differential pick” from our gameweek 36 captains post in Ryan Babel.

Also we’re starting Jimenez and Rashford over Bednarek because Bednarek always gets yellow cards and Southampton are mathemically safe from relegationish. 61.38 points this week is the expected!

3.64 + 5.41 + 4.77 + 5.63 + 6.45 + 14.78 + 4.03 + 4.91 + 3.64 + 4.43 + 3.69

Best Starting XI

Mat Ryan – 3.64

Andy Robertson – 5.41

Shane Duffy – 4.77

Trent Alexander Arnold – 5.63

Raheem Sterling (VC) – 6.45

Sadio Mane (C) – 14.78

Diogo Jota – 4.03

Ryan Babel – 4.91

Marcus Rashford – 3.64

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang – 4.43

Raul Jimenez – 3.69

Our bench is:

Lukasz Fabianski – 2.46

Jan Bednarek – 3.72

Sead Kolasinac – 3.54

David Brooks – 3.51
