The Bookie’s Team: Game Week 23 #FPL

UPDATE! WE ARE STARTING TRENT!

Klopp said there is a possibility that he starts and his point expectancy is higher than Michael Keane’s so Keane drops to first choice sub and Trent starts.

Hi everyone, this is a weekly blog post where we document changes to our team based on bookie’s odds. Having done this last season we’d like to think we’ve learned from our mistakes and aim to finish higher than our top 7% finish. This is not a wildcard XI or a team of the best possible players, this is an actual team which we have had since GW1 and have made changes to throughout the season. With the introduction and warning away, no to introduce to you the bookie’s team for Game Week 23. This post will review our changes and reason as to why we brought them in.

Currently, we’re 20,988th in the world and aim to be in the top 1% by the end of the season. All with the help of the bookies. To view the team, click on the following link: OddsonFPLTeam

We scored 67 last week and moved up further in the rankings to just under 21 thousand in the world. While we continue to do well injuries have started to take a toll on our XI, with long term injuries to Kane and Trent Alexander Arnold being most concerning. We decided that while we need both players out a hit isn’t necessary for us given we should have an XI which can play.

Obviously then we looked at forwards and we looked at defenders and which can get us more points this week. Aguero is this week’s highest expected scorer from attackers, whilst Laporte is the most from defence. As we can’t afford a straight swap for Laporte, but can for Aguero it made sense to us to move Kane out for the Argentinian. Though we had doubts.

Guardiola talked about Gabriel Jesus/Sergio Aguero and their game time: “We are going to play one of them or both of them, I don’t know. There is no problem at all. There are many games, so everyone is going to play.” If history tells us anything, if one plays it is Aguero, if two, its both, rarely has Jesus played alone when Aguero is fully fit. Its a game of risks and chance, so we’re going to risk it on Aguero starting.

Our captain is Mohamed Salah, obviously, like everyone else in the world. He has the highest point expectancy and comes up against a Palace side who face an emergency crisis in goal. Vice captain is Anthony Martial, who is the 3rd highest rated player this game week.

Roy Hodgson: “Both goalkeepers [Guaita and Hennessey] are out. There aren’t any other injuries to report. We haven’t got a timescale but they are working hard. We are fortunate that we have a goalkeeper of Speroni’s quality and experience.”

Our Expected Points is: 59.76 (58.34 if Keane starts)
