The Bookie’s Team: Game Week 18 #FPL

Hi everyone, this is a weekly blog post where we document changes to our team based on bookie’s odds. Having done this last season we’d like to think we’ve learned from our mistakes and aim to finish higher than our top 7% finish. This is not a wildcard XI or a team of the best possible players, this is an actual team which we have had since GW1 and have made changes to throughout the season. With the introduction and warning away, no to introduce to you the bookie’s team for Game Week 18. This post will review our changes and reason as to why we brought them in.

Currently, we’re 174,956th in the world and aim to be in the top 1% by the end of the season. All with the help of the bookies. To view the team, click on the following link: OddsonFPLTeam

With our team in good stead an a number of transfers made in aid of this week we feel the team is in a good position to bank a transfer in gameweek 19. With Danny Ings scoring twice against Arsenal he could come good under a new manager and system, he stays in the side for the forseeable future.  We expected Salah’s scoring numbers to be low during this run of fixtures, but with a high expected value he stays in the side this week and CAPTAINS, allowing us to negotiate moves next game week.

One player which we had considered ditching was Paul Pogba. Given Ole has come in as manager and Mourinho has been sacked the Frenchman could come good when taken off the leash. With a less toxic atmosphere and hopefully more attacking football Pogba can focus on his antics on the field rather than off it. Given Lacazette was rested midweek against Spurs and Arsenal did not perform well, one could assume changes are afoot for the gunners to stop the rot. Lacazette is expected to start at home to Burnley and could haul, he is our VC for this game week.

Kenedy keeps his spot, but we’re starting to lose faith in the Brazilian. Like many Newcastle fans we have found him to be insanely frustrating this season. With some saying that he is a flawed talent, one you cannot rely on. We definitely can see that.

Find below our starting XI. Doherty places 1st on the bench, despite having 0.02 points less than Keane, just because we feel he has a better chance of assisting than Keane.

Our total points expectancy is 55.98
