In a similar feature to last year, we’re sharing with you who is this week’s most likely point scorers based on an algorithm we’ve created. The points are based on a player’s chance of scoring once, twice, three times a lady…. No sorry, just once and twice. As well as that we add defensive player’s clean sheet points and whether they’re expected to start or not. The variables for starting are ‘Yes’, ‘No’, and ‘Rotation’. With Yes giving a player 2 points, No 0, and Rotation 1. The points are taken from our Clean Sheet Gameweek 23 post which was shared earlier this week. Using this information we’ll help you choose your captain for Fantasy Football in game week 18.
A midfielder will naturally get more points for scoring, as will a defender, while a forward only gets 4 points. This can often lead to a midfielder with 50% chance of scoring (50% x 5 = 2.5) ending up with a higher expected point tally than a forward with 60% chance of scoring (4 x 60% = 2.4).

Mohamed Salah – Liverpool – Exp Points 7.14
Liverpool remain top of the league for another while at least following their 1-0 win away to Brighton in Gameweek 22 which say Mo Salah pop up with a penalty in what was the only goal of the game. Liverpool welcome Crystal Palace to Anfield on Saturday and they will be keen to once again distance themselves from Man City until Sunday at least. If the Liverpool title charge is to remain on track between now and May, expect Mo have play a big part starting on Saturday.
Raheem Sterling – Man City – Exp Points 6.15
While it looks like only 2 teams are realistically fighting for the title it would make some sense to me at least to get some attacking coverage from both sides. Raheem Sterling is the highest scoring Man City player this season in an FPL sense and looks a solid option as one would like to assume he will avoid being rotated barring injury. City are away to a managerless Huddersfield side who lie at the foot of the Premier League table. City have been in goal scoring form as of late and I would expect Raheem to get some attacking returns this gameweek.
Anthony Martial – Man Utd – Exp Points 5.94
Following the win against Spurs many will now consider some Man Utd attacking coverage. Since Ole took over the reds have won 5 in a row and United look like a rejuvenated side up front. They are creating chances and more importantly scoring goals. At 7.3m Anthony Martial looks appealing as he will play a more advanced role in the side. He has a low ownership percentage and could be seen as a bit of a differential at this stage in the season. United host Brighton on Saturday afternoon and if they can keep up their current form they should pick up the points and keep them on the heels of Chelsea and the top 4 spot.
