Players which may be out of Gameweek 1

What many people may not have considered for choosing their game week 1 side is that many of the players who would be instant considerations will have had limited minutes in pre-season or none whatsoever dependent on how far they have gotten in the World Cup. Players which reached the final 4 of the competition are less likely to play due to being given extended holidays by their club. While players like Phil Jones and Trent Alexander-Arnold received fewer minutes in the world cup, their need for rest may be less than someone like Paul Pogba, Dejan Lovren or Romelu Lukaku, who were crucial in their side’s runs in the World Cup.

While this may cause a headache, it does make it easier to not include Harry Kane from the start due to his August curse.
