.Another Gameweek has come and gone. Aguero backers will have made a surge up the rankings but it’s too early to get carried away. FPL is a cruel mistress and will come back to haunt you just as quick. Having said all that, it’s time to have a look at goalscorer probabilities for gameweek 3.
By the time you are reading this article, Andy Robertson may have increased in price to 6.1M. If this is the case then don’t let that put you off. With 2 clean sheets and 1 assist from 2 games to date, owners of Robertson can only be pleased with his start to the season. Liverpool come up against Brighton and Leicester before the International Break. One would expect Liverpool to keep at least one clean sheet. Maybe Robertson can nip in with a goal/assist also. He has been solid to date and barring injury his place looks nailed down. At 12/1 we think the bookies have underestimated his chances of scoring.
Despite their defeat to Liverpool last weekend, Crystal Palace are a team to keep tabs on for the coming weeks. The fixtures for the next few weeks are eye-catching and you would imagine these are the games Crystal Palace will be aiming to win. The defender I would be looking at is Mamadou Sakho. At just 5.0M he is very reasonably priced and looks like he should pick up a few clean sheet points over the coming weeks.
Many of you may have been hoping for Salah to match Aguero’s performance on Monday Night Football. However, this was not to be the case. To his credit, he did chip in with 2 assists all be it one was up for debate to some degree. Similar to what I said above regarding Robertson, the Liverpool fixtures now and the international break are quite favourable. A player like Salah could do damage in any fixture against any team. It would not come as a surprise to many to see Salah back amongst the goals vs Brighton at the weekend and he will be a captain option for some.
Richarlison is on a crest of a wave at the moment following his move to Everton. Having scored 3 goals already this season, he is certainly one to keep tabs on with his price being just 6.6M. Everton are playing well and their next 3 fixtures are favourable. If Richie can keep his current form going it would come as no surprise to anyone to see him amongst the goals for a few more weeks at least. Everton face Bournemouth and Huddersfield before the International Break.
Sergio Aguero showed his form of last season by getting at the weekend vs Huddersfield. When this man is on form he is one of the best players in the league. Man City are away to Wolves on Saturday and the following 4 fixtures are all games that you would expect City to win. Man City should score a lot of goals over the coming weeks and Sergio should have a part to play in the Man City title defence for the 2018/2019 season.
Danny Ings is tempting as a 3rd striker option at just 5.5M. While he may be competing with Charlie Austin for the starting spot up top. Ings got his first goal for his new club at the weekend vs Everton. The Southampton fixtures are favourable for the next few weeks. Considering Ings’ price I think he is worth a punt. The Saints welcome Leicester to St Marys on Saturday afternoon. I think this is the type of game Ings could thrive in.
